We’ve had a lot of fanciful versions of Anne Boleyn lately, but Philippa Gregory’s, although perhaps the most fictional of all, is still believed by many to be based on fact. Spoiler: It’s not.
I was a costume assistant and set person all through high school and college. "Anne of the Thousand Days" and "a Man for All Seasons" were two I worked on while in high school. At that age, being exposed to even that level of history, and being able to compare the plots, was pretty advanced for a high schooler.
Now I am wondering how Shakespeare was able to research all those kings.
