You can’t just throw the stuffed toy out the window and think you’ve banished grief. As a story about the weight of loss, the relief of letting go, and the recovery of self NC is extraordinary
I appreciate your take on this show. It helped me to understand and enjoy it, somewhat, as overrall I found it depressing and sad. One of my nieces who I met for lunch today is very much into women's issues and hadn't heard of the series, so I recommended it to her. We discussed the movie "Poor Things," which was nominated for several awards. I saw it with my wife and she disliked it intensely, as did my niece, who described it as justifying rape and pedophilia. Just as a dog can smell and hear things we cannot, same with a cat, women can sense and understand things men cannot, even though we have the one X chromosome. So I can pretend to understand certain things or "get it," but I'm not good at pretending. Thank G-d for that one X chromosome. Where would I be without it?
Brilliant deconstruction of the episode.
Susan Bordo, thank you for your creative and intelligent writing
I don't think I can love this more❣️ it captures all I experienced so beautifully.
