This is a sobering reminder of all the steps that led to Hillary’s defeat right before the election, and it brings back the shock I felt that all the sexual assault charges against Trump seemed to vanish or no longer matter. The weekend before the election, while knocking on doors to get out the vote for Hillary in New Hampshire, the group I was with drove by a town crossing where some MAGA women were vociferously cheering and waving signs along the lines of “You can grab us by the pussy anytime!” Ugh. That’s when I knew something was very askew, even though I didn’t want to believe it.
Trauma that we are still suffering from. And STIILL haven’t adequately addressed in the mainstream media. It really isn’t so much that Trump “won”; it’s that Hillary was attacked from so many different enemy outposts, right and left.
Trump was supposed to lose. Clinton was the overwhelming favorite, according to the mainstream press/polls. Then it happened again in 2020, with the press/polls showing Biden the massive favorite, and instead Trump very nearly winning. What is happening here?
We know that election fraud is being perpetrated on a massive scale by the GOP. That many polls cannot be faulty. A friend of mine took video of conservative poll workers refusing to check a voting machine that was visibly "acting up". She posted it to YouTube. It disappeared while I was trying to download it to my hard drive. I wonder how many machines were "acting up". In my blue district, in every election, the line forms around the block to vote with a paper ballot, while the electronic voting machine sits idle. Since covid hit, most people in my town vote by mail. Trump's puppet, Louis DeJoy, is still the postmaster general, despite being investigated by the FBI for numerous campaign finance violations. The postmaster general is appointed by the board of governors, and those board members are appointed by the president. Trump selected the governors on the board that appointed DeJoy. Essentially, the wolf has been hired to guard the sheep.
Thanks Susan for this important history. I think that Bill Clinton's past behavior also played a role in clouding the clarity of Trump's moral unfitness. Unfairly, Hillary was tainted by Bill's behavior.
From a perspective of character, the more I think about it, the more I think that Bill Clinton is not very different than Trump with regard to personal treatment of women.

If anyone deserved to be President, it is Hillary. She represents the best in American women, especially her remarkably strong generation.
Thank you so much for the restack!

We are in the upside-down. The GOP is unscrupulous. And there are too many people who don’t want a POTUS that’s “better” than them.

So you're saying the polls were correct, and the huge discrepancy between poll and vote was due to election fraud?
Yes. Absolutely. And remember, Hillary DID win the popular vote by a considerable margin.
I honestly haven't heard this before. All I've heard is the fairest elections ever. It's the other side crying foul
And that’s leaving aside the Gerrymandering, voter suppression, and even the anti-democratic (and anti-Democratic!!) nature of the Electoral College!
