Twitter is Dying, So Chat With Me Here
Thoughts about everything & anything for my subscribers to talk about—totally among ourselves! Today’s chat topic: The Interview with Marjorie Taylor Green
Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the BordoLines subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. And you can start a new topic yourself. My one rule: No personal attacks! Controversial comments are welcome, but abuse is not permitted. This is not twitter.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. And if you’re not interested, no problem. You’ll still get emails of my regular newsletters—“TV Watch” (currently featuring “Succession” and “Perry Mason”) on Wednesdays and “Political/Media Potpourri” on Sundays.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
TODAY’S CHAT TOPIC:
After listening to Mika defend “allowing all sides a voice”—the argument being that people need to see for themselves how ignorant, racist, etc. the MAGA crazies are—I forced myself to watch Lesley Stahl’s interview with Marjorie Taylor Green. Find my thoughts in my chat room!
My dear, too much trouble. Marjorie Taylor Green is not worth noticing, much less chatting over. Twitter will not die unless Musk takes if off line: It serves a function a Town Square in which everyone can say everything everywhere all at once all the time and we all feel less alone.
