Hi Susan, I’m not sure you received my email reply to your question about Substack’s features. I’m pasting it below. Feel free to follow up with me via my email address: PoeticSurprise[at]gmail
Substack offers a lot of helpful features to enhance our posts. Before the piece is posted you can go to the top and select "buttons" to insert the "subscribe" and "share" buttons.
If you want to customize a button you can select "customize" and then insert the name for the button. The only tricky part here is figuring out the hyperlink. To get this just create a generic "subscribe" button through the same "buttons" feature. Then copy that web address and use it for your custom button.
If you want to highlight a passage to capture readers attention, you can select the quotation icon near the top, to the right of the headphones icon .
If you want to highlight a quote and change the font size, begin by doing the above step, then highlight it with your cursor and then click "style." There you'll be given different options to alter the size of the text that is highlighted.
If there's anything else in particular that you're interested in doing that you saw in my post let me know and I'll see about explaining how to do it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your movie reviews. Reviews of anything popular culture are a big hit with me. Has anybody else seen "To Leslie"? Now there's a performance.
I'm new to your Substack but admire your work. My feedback is for you to write when inspired to do so. We readers will embrace the (kinds of) works that most interest us. Perhaps your publication will attract a varied readership. You might also note that you can create multiple "newsletters" within a single newsletter. By going into the settings and creating "new" sections within your newsletter, you can actually give your readers the opportunity to select which areas of your work they want to subscribe to. This might permit your readers to sort themselves, leaving you to write as you please. https://on.substack.com/p/a-guide-to-publication-sections
I appreciate your analyses & especially your comments on women's issues. I am a Vegan. This is my main Focus. The Earth is Dying and all the space that is being used by Non-Vegan writers is blinding us all the the Death of the Earth and all that is on it.

This email works best: bordo@uky.edu.
Things have screwed up if you use the one that is currently a link on my website.

Thanks Peggy! I love doing pop culture reviews so glad to hear this!! (Not so crazy about “To Leslie” though. Good acting but…)

Thanks Jean!! As you know, I’m not a Vegan, but we share a lot of values. Glad to have your input!
