Thank you for your very welcome comments. I’m now thinking I may do my next post on my favorite and not so favorite movies/tv based on books. From movies that vastly improved on the book (e.g. Jaws, The Godfather) to ones that, imo, did not (e.g. Oppenheimer, Crowded Room, Women Talking). Plus a round-up of the past week. Looking forward to doing it!

Happy to hear you're having such success.

My favorite posts so far have been the two on Shiv/Succession and the one on L:olita.

Both Succession and Lolita are superb works of art.

So I suppose i have a preference for posts about superb works of fiction.

You’re a master of the breakdown and cross examination, long form critical thinking on politics.

I am here for writing on TV and movies but have also enjoyed some of your personal pieces. I’m less likely to read your political commentary because I am already inundated and after a while it hurts to read about this cast of characters.

I like everything you write, and I’m definitely not scared of the long form stuff. (A lot of long form pieces on substack are informative, but I find that skimming them seems appropriate. But your writing is just better than most of them. A long piece doesn’t seem like a chore.)

But a roundup of short things would be nice too. It occurs to me that this could be a place where you could connect some dots among both your short takes and the long pieces either before or upcoming.

As appalling as it sounds to say it, you’re a big part of my media diet. So I’d find it interesting if the opportunity arose to show how what you wrote about some show was relevant to your take on some other show, or something in the news. Not that you don’t do that already, in the longer writing, but that kind of dot-connecting might work well in a roundup/digest format.

I like all those topics, but I'd also like a "round-up" of the week with shorter space for each t
